On November 19, 2020, at a joint USCIS and Ombudsman webinar, USCIS mentioned that it is currently working on scheduling biometrics appointments for a backlog of 1.3 million applications. It also stated that Application Support Centers (ASC) – where biometrics are scheduled – are trying to accommodate about 10,400 appointments per week, nationwide. The availability and operations of ASCs vary by city, county and state as they aim to comply with local stay-at-home or other Covid-19 related orders.
Pars Equality Center (Pars) projects that the scheduling of biometrics appointments for backlogged applicants living in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area may face greater delay due to stricter government orders. Nonetheless, Pars continues to work with the community to continue the submission of Naturalization and other immigration applications.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to schedule a consultation with Pars Equality Center’s Immigration Legal Services Department.
