May was Mental Health Awareness Month, and at Pars Equality Center (Pars), we are deeply committed to addressing mental health issues within our community. Pars serves as a home away from home for immigrants, offering vital support and resources to help them thrive.
Our mental health initiative in the LA office, launched in 2023, has provided peer counseling to 201 immigrants to date. We continue to promote mental well-being through numerous workshops and support groups, offering essential guidance and care. This initiative has been a lifeline for many, helping them navigate the challenges of resettlement and integration.
Furthermore, our Silver Club in San Jose is dedicated to combating isolation and fostering a mental health platform for Persian-speaking senior citizens. The club offers a variety of recreational activities and educational classes, with over 534 seniors participating regularly and benefiting from a strong sense of community and support.
