In August, we held two back-to-school events in San Jose and Los Angeles, where we distributed 180 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to refugees and newcomers. Each backpack was filled with useful items such as notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, and other necessary supplies to help students start the school year with confidence. These events were a wonderful opportunity to support families in need and help children feel prepared and excited for the new academic year.
Additionally, as a trusted messenger of the Office of Community Partnerships and Strategic Communications (OCPSC), we distributed educational materials on heat wave awareness and prevention. Our goal is to ensure that everyone in our community is prepared and informed about staying safe during extreme weather conditions.
