Reza Oliyai

Dr. Oliyai is the President and CEO of Oliyai Consulting Corporation, which he founded after three decades of working in pharmaceutical research, development, and commercialization. His focus is on connecting Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) science and technology with operations to enhance clinical, regulatory, and commercial delivery outcomes. Dr. Oliyai’s clients include venture capital firms, biotech start-ups, small and mid-size biotech companies, large pharma, law firms, and contract development and manufacturing organizations.

Dr. Oliyai spent most of his industry career at Gilead, where he progressed from research scientist to senior executive in charge of 1600 people at seven sites. During this time, he contributed to the development of over 200 drug candidates and the commercialization of 27 products, and he is an inventor on multiple U.S. and international patents.In his last position as Senior Vice President of Pharmaceutical and Biologics Operations, he led worldwide groups responsible for research support, development, and commercialization of small molecules, biologics, and antibody-drug conjugates across multiple technology platforms, including the establishment of global supply chains for all clinical and commercial products.

Dr. Oliyai received a B.S. in Pharmacy from the Oregon State University and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Kansas.
