Census 2020 – Be Seen. Be Heard. Be Counted!

October 3, 2020

Over the past 12 months, Pars Equality Center (Pars) has been actively involved in Census 2020.  As the census outreach partner of Santa Clara County, Los Angeles County, California Complete Count, United Way Bay Area, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, California Community Foundation, We Count LA, National League of Cities and others, Pars reached close to half a million people through in-person events, social media campaigns, textbanking, phonebanking, training webinars, tabling, and other outreach activities to ensure complete count of hard-to-reach communities.  Pars has been recognized as the official Census Questionnaire Center in both San Jose and Los Angeles counties by the California Complete Count- Census 2020.

Highlights of our census 2020 outreach activities include Pars & The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans’ (PAAIA) Civic Engagement Forum at Stanford University where panelists included Dr. Abbas Milani, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Former U.S. Ambassador to Russian, Michael McFaul, and our own Legal Director, Paris Etemadi Scott.  Our joint social media campaign with PAAIA, #WriteInIranian, reached 382,421 people and included PSA videos by Maz Jobrani and Dr. Firouz Naderi.

In the final days of census 2020, Pars is still engaged and committed to achieving full participation of our community members.  Please contact our Census Questionnaire Assistance Center if you need help completing your census questionnaire by calling 408-26-6400 (San Jose Center) / 818-616-3091(Los Angeles Center).
