Funded by Sasan and Shirin Goodarzi, the Goodarzi Scholarship Grant supports LGBTQ+ immigrant students pursuing higher education in California. The scholarship is designed to help talented students overcome financial barriers, achieve academic success, and build meaningful careers while fostering leadership, resilience, and community engagement.
This scholarship is available to LGBTQ+ individuals who have legally immigrated to the United States within the last seven years and are pursuing undergraduate or graduate education in California.
The maximum award is up to $10,000 per academic year. Recipients who continue their education while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher may be considered for continued funding throughout the duration of their degree program, subject to annual review and the discretion of Sasan and Shirin Goodarzi.
As immigrants themselves, Sasan and Shirin Goodarzi understand the challenges many newcomers face in accessing higher education. Through this scholarship, they seek to invest in LGBTQ+ immigrant students who demonstrate academic promise, leadership potential, and a commitment to creating positive change in their communities.
