Feeding Our Most Vulnerable Communities During COVID-19
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of our COVID-19 programming which secured financial assistance, rental support, food provisions, and public benefits for thousands of low-income households in Northern and Southern California. Notably, our food program in Los Angeles, #LetsFeedLA, that was funded by the Federal CARES Act and the LA County Food Security Branch, delivered emergency food support to hundreds of eligible families. From November 2020 to January 2021, Pars Equality Center provided $600-$900 grocery gift cards to 406 qualified families and facilitated food delivery to 164 households, totaling $370,000 in relief.
Similar results were achieved by our financial and rental assistance programs in Santa Clara and Los Angeles counties were federal, state and local funds were used to assist 103 families with direct cash assistance and rent payments.
